This, is my amazing daughter Mackenzie. She is 15 and a beautiful young woman. Born in May of 97', two weeks late, I should have known that she was going to be stubborn. Not sure but I think she might have been born with a book in her hand. Mackenzie wanted to read so early I had know idea how to cultivate her willingness to learn. I realized that I better teach her to read when she was 2 and was reciting letters off everything she could see or touch. In the third grade her teacher refused to believe that she was reading Harry potter let alone understanding what she was reading. I would dare to challenge anybody with any trivia.
So many interesting tidbits about Mackenzie. Ultimately she is the reason why I have been so interested in this subjects of TEENS. Need less to say I want to understand how to help my children as they are turning into young adults.
Mackenzie has been a hard case, with all her strengths of knowledge, she has also been diagnosed with ADHD and recently we have been talking with the doctor about other possible diagnosis. She is very hostel and volatile more than usual, more than the typical teen, at least this is what our doctor says. So with all this information, I truly just want to help my daughter.
Mic (Mackenzie), and I are at endless battles that run from what color the sky is to "why can't I have a pierced nose?" This is putting lightly. As I continue with this Blog I hope to be able to find some answers. I wish I could type as fast as my mind is going this would be much faster.
